Makeup
Makeup artists are frequently the unsung heroes on set, especially when they must do their most difficult labor out there in the field, far away from the makeup chair. However, on a program like Vikings, which has much of its major cast covered in paint, these makeup artists are even more essential.
Makeup artists must ensure that the same makeup is applied from shot to shot and that there is no smudging due to the weather. They are also among the first members of the crew to arrive at the set, as they must prepare all of the performers before filming may begin. This might take several hours by itself.
