Korean wedding
We’ve seen the traditional clothing used in wedding ceremonies in South Korea, the Hanbok, which is used in weddings all around the country. In Korea, the wedding ceremony, which is traditionally called kunbere, takes places at the bride’s home. The wedding customs in Korea are supposed to reflect the couple’s commitment to each other.
For example, after the ceremony takes place, the groom is supposed to carry his new wife on his back around the table, as a symbol of his reliability. In a similar way, even the traditional wedding banquet reflects on the couple’s commitment; the traditional food served in a Korean wedding are noodles, but these should be extra long noodles, to symbolize the wish for a long and happy marriage.
