Traditional Wedding Dresses From Around the World

July 14, 2017 by Lisa Turner

Bride in Peru

In Peru, the locals always wear colorful clothes and fabrics, and it’s no different when they are getting married. Brides wear handmade skirts in bright, colorful colors. The wedding attire includes a colorful hat adorned with tassels. Outsiders might find it difficult to differentiate between everyday clothes and wedding clothes, since their everyday outfits are equally colorful!

Both the bride and groom wear a poncho, which is another item of clothing that is rather casual. The colors, accessories and decorations of the outfit are symbolic to the Incan culture. On their wedding day, Peruvians go as far as decorating the cake with the same colors as their colorful dresses.
