Again with the mantra, BAKING IS A SCIENCE. That includes the bake temperature and time. If the oven isn’t hot enough, the outside will be done before the inside gets half a chance, which appears to be what happened here. On the bright side, they’ll never make this mistake again.

Seriously, though, bread is hard to get right. Just ask the thousands of people who tried to learn last year when they were isolating at home. So many baking fails hit my newsfeed that I didn’t know where to look anymore. I still haven’t tried it, but I can’t fail worse than this, so maybe I should give it a go.
