#39: Marvin Johnson
Marvin Johnson was all-action toughness. A relentless southpaw, he fought at a furious pace and absorbed frightening punishment while pressing forward. Even when bloodied or exhausted, he refused to stop attacking. Johnson’s willingness to trade bombs until someone fell defined his fearless, warrior spirit in the light heavyweight division.

In 1978, Johnson fought Mate Parlov for the WBC light heavyweight title. After taking heavy shots and facing swelling around his eyes, he kept charging forward, breaking Parlov down with nonstop aggression to win by tenth-round TKO. That performance embodied Johnson’s toughness and refusal to back down from danger.
