#23: Archie Moore
Moore’s toughness was legendary — he fought over 200 professional bouts and endured punishment across decades. He combined incredible durability with cunning defense, always surviving long enough to win. Even when hurt or old, Moore’s composure and grit carried him. His ability to endure punishment made him a timeless warrior.

In 1952, Moore finally won the light heavyweight title after 17 years of battling through the ranks. He faced Joey Maxim, absorbed hard counters, and wore him down over 15 grueling rounds for a decision win. That victory proved Moore’s toughness and persistence after years of brutal wars and near-misses.
