#24: Activists And Indigenous Leaders Still Being Targeted
Across Colombia, community leaders who defend land, rivers, and Indigenous rights are being threatened or killed. Many are attacked for opposing illegal mining, logging, or powerful landowners. Despite international pressure, arrests are rare, and most cases end without justice.

These killings create fear in communities already struggling to survive. Activists continue their work knowing they may be next, driven by the hope of protecting their people and environment. Their courage highlights Colombia’s ongoing struggle between progress and the violence that resists it.
