Was it a Ghost or a Mom?
Latch key kids spent most of their after-school days hanging out without parental supervision after school. What a time to be alive. This 80s kid remembers an eerie experience that a ghost, a meddling mom, or both can explain. Our storyteller was notorious for always losing his house keys. It was so bad that his parents had to change the locks multiple times.
Eventually, our storyteller’s parents got so fed up that they put the new key on a rope necklace in the hopes that he would wear it around his neck at all times. Guess what? He lost that new key, too. Classic. That’s where the ghost-slash-meddling mom comes in. He broke into his own house one day after school and saw his lost key hanging in his room. Almost as if to say, “Looking for this?”
