#7: Homecoming Dread
Jamie had counted the days until his return home, imagining the hugs, smiles, and tears of joy. After so long away, he longed for that perfect reunion with his wife and daughter. He pictured it so many times that it almost felt real before it even happened.
But when he finally stepped off the plane, something was wrong. The excitement he expected wasn’t there. Instead, a heavy dread settled in his chest. He scanned the crowd in the airport lobby, searching desperately. His family wasn’t there. Where were they?
