The Quick and Simple Solution
Many times in school, we are taught about powerful nations that formerly ruled over many smaller ones. Those seem to be the norms of the globe, except in Singapore, where they are not. In 1965, Malaysia had had enough and granted Singapore its independence willingly.
Malaysia took the easy way out and left the rest of the world to deal with Singapore, as is the case in most instances involving the breakup of two nations. It’s hard to think of a nation that has done this intentionally throughout the globe. We’ll wait for the time being.
