#12: Calling All Gulls!

This Seagull Turk Telekom phone booth in Cappadocia, Turkey, is strange, to say the least, but it seems to follow a worldly trend of odd phone booths. For instance, there’s a half-formed brain phone booth, an odd-shaped sea-shell phone booth, and a giant sunflower phone booth, all in different parts of Brazil.

In Alaska, a phone booth was carved entirely out of ice during their 2011 Ice Championships. Other parts of the world have a Homer Simpson mural with a phone booth in his mouth and a Hello Kitty ears and bow phone booth. Really, looking at all of these makes this seagull seem perfectly tame and ordinary. The real question is, when and why has this trend started?
