No Extra Pay Additional Hours
Japan is well-known for its massive level of output. This holds in nearly every facet of Japanese life, areas like production. It also often requires that workers have to work before the official hours now and then, for more pay, right? Well, not so fast.
Foreigners may find it hard to understand one country-wide policy, too. Workers do not get paid for working extra hours in Japan. If you can get everything done during your shift, good for you. If not, you are sure to work extra hours for no additional pay. No arguing about overtime – it does not exist.
