NEVER honk your car horn

Tokyo is one of the most populated cities on the planet, so getting stuck in traffic is quite common. However, living in Japan one huge test of patience. If you ever find yourself stuck in a long queue of cars, don’t go blaring your horn.

While standard in other large cities, honking your horn anywhere in Japan is not going to yield favorable results. In fact, you and your car will automatically be deemed as inconsiderate, even if the guy ahead of you is holding up traffic. So, it’s just best to wait it out and silently seethe to yourself.
