You Tricky Feline, You
They say that dogs are a man’s best friend, but are they really? Yes, they are. But are they really? Well, it turns out that cats were so infatuated with humans that they domesticated themselves just so they could be around us. This took place roughly 7,500 years ago, so there’s very little wonder why there were so revered to the Ancient Egyptians (last time we’ll bring them up, we swear).
When humans began harvesting grains, our supplies attracted mice, which was food for feline predators. And our ancestors were more than happy to have feline hunters around since they killed the pests without touching our food supply. As for being man’s best friend, we’ll give them the rank of “nice to have around but won’t call to check up on them.”
