Didn’t All Dinosaurs Live at the Same Time?
What’s your favorite dinosaur? I was particularly fond of Albertosaurus, simply because of its name. I used to have a friend named Albert in grade school. Anyway, it turns out that your favorite dinosaur and mine probably didn’t come from the same prehistoric period. They say dinosaurs lived 65 million years ago. Well, some dinosaurs were already extinct by then.
For instance, the Stegosaurus was munching on vegetation roughly 150 million years ago during the late Jurassic period. As for the Tyrannosaurus Rex, which we all incorrectly think came from the Jurassic period (thanks, Steven Spielberg), they existed during the late Cretaceous period, roughly 65 million years in the past. T-rexes ate Triceratopses and Edmontosauruses, not Stegos.
