Narrow Passageways
By the time spring of 1962 rolled around, both the Anglin brothers and Morris had managed to chisel out holes just large enough for their daring escape. These narrow passageways were the stuff of claustrophobic nightmares, barely accommodating the breadth of a human body. Yet, these seemingly impossible conditions were exactly what the audacious trio needed to orchestrate their meticulously planned flight to freedom.
Escaping the confining prison walls was merely the tip of the iceberg. Over the course of several months, the men had cunningly pilfered raincoats from the factory, ingeniously stitching them together to craft a makeshift raft and lifesavers. Without these vital tools, they would have undoubtedly met their doom, swallowed by the merciless, icy grip of the bay’s treacherous waters.
