The Transmission of Heat to the Ground
The majority of homes in the Western world are pre-fitted with central heating systems that circulate warm air through metal vents. These systems are standard in most Western countries. During the colder months, these systems are intended to maintain a comfortable temperature within the house for the people living there.
In South Korean homes, rather than having vents in the walls, there are pipes just beneath the floors that carry warm air directly to the home that is located above it. It’s not uncommon to see South Koreans unwinding on the floor during the chillier months because it’s such a comfortable spot to be in. Wow, that is a fantastic suggestion!
