TV-watching habits have also transformed since the 1970s when people had to choose between the three channels they could get on their black-and-white TVs. And if you missed an episode of your favorite show, tough luck – you had to wait until the rerun or hope that your neighbor would fill you in.
But now, we’ve got hundreds of channels, streaming services, and on-demand options that make it easier than ever to watch TV. In fact, a recent study found that the average American spends over three hours a day watching TV. At least we’re staying indoors and out of trouble! Maybe we should all take a break.
