Funny Girl
Elizabeth Montgomery’s persona as the wholesome girl next door was apparently only for her character on film. According to costars, she had quite the sense of humor–and a dirty one at that. Full of goofy jokes, she wasn’t afraid to make others laugh by looking silly or making a shocking joke.
Montgomery’s cast member, Erin Murphy, who played her daughter, Tabitha, said of her in an interview, “She had a really dirty sense of humor…She was just one of those people who was so beautiful, but she wasn’t afraid to look silly — kind of like Lucille Ball…They could be really campy and funny. There was no fear there.”
