Playing House
Growing up on set with pretend parents, it can be interesting to see the relationship between actors and child actors. It might be confusing for a child to come on set and pretend to have two different parents. But it can also be fun and rewarding for all actors involved. In fact, Erin Murphy had a good relationship with her on-screen parents.

In an interview with ABC, Murphy says, “I looked to her [Montgomery] as a parent, and she would tell me what to do like a parent. In a lot of ways, I’m so much more like her than I am my own mom, which is hilarious.” Apparently, Murphy even referred to Montgomery and Sargent as “Mommy Samantha” and “Daddy Darrin.”
