Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered: Facts We Never Knew About Your Favorite Old School TV Show

April 7, 2021 by Elizabeth Grillo

Magic Nose

You might wonder how Elizabeth Montgomery was able to give Samantha’s nose a twitch every time she performed magic. The truth is, that her nose is not really moving at all. If you look closely, it’s actually Montgomery’s upper lip, accompanied by a jingling sound effect, that performs this signature “twitch” in Bewitched.

It would have definitely been a magical feat if Montgomery truly did wiggle her nose; the human nose is not equipped with the muscles to do that! But still impressive is the mouth wiggle she was able to do, all the while still looking good! Not sure we could all guarantee the same level of beauty while moving our mouths that way.
