I’ve Seen that Somewhere Before
The set used for Samantha and Darrin’s home might be familiar to some. That’s because it was reused in part from the 1959 movie Gidget, and remade in reverse. Even the patio was copied from a Gidget movie. This was a way to save on budget for the studio, so reusing sets was fairly common.
In fact, the facade of the Bewitched house was also used for Dennis the Menace and I Dream of Jeannie, among other TV shows. Not everything in Hollywood is so original. The careful watcher can spot a lot of reusing of film sets and even actors in different sitcoms of the time.
