Thrifty Costumes
This may be shocking, but the costumes for supporting actors on Bewitched were usually not supplied by the costume department, but rather by the actors themselves. While today, TV shows generally have large budgets and can accommodate great expenditures, TV was more thrifty in the 60’s, and would save money by renting fewer costumes.
For characters such as Louise Tate, played by Kasey Rogers, their costumes would be picked and brought by the actor, then pressed and steamed on set. While it may be less exciting to film in your own clothes, it did give the actors an opportunity to apply their own taste to their characters.
