The first Harry Potter film, “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” was released on November 18, 2001. The fact that the first picture was made when the performers were only 11 or 12 years old is easy to overlook, especially given the fact that the actors are already well into their adult lives.

While the red carpet events and big premieres that come with celebrity status are wonderful, it also means that you are no longer anonymous in the public domain. The much-loved films took nearly a decade to make, and while they were crucial to our childhoods, the lives of the young performers were irrevocably altered as a result of their involvement.
