Home ec
Everybody’s seen this TV trope in classic sitcoms. The main character, usually in high school, needs to take care of a bag of flour over a week to see how good of a parent they’ll be. Sure, it’s a very simplistic test of parenthood, but it at least proves that you won’t puncture your child (though you can purchase a new bag of flour).

But is it real? Believe it or not, it is! However, not every school does this (mine didn’t), but we’ve heard of our peers from other high schools having to do this. The home ec. teacher might even replace the bag of flour with an egg (hard-boiled, of course).
