Quiet down, mother
This is something I’ve only heard once in my life, and the day after, my friend told me he got a pretty good whooping. Served him right, too. In general, we don’t tell our parents to shut up unless we’re ready to face the consequences. And in many families, the consequences are a good old case of deserved child abuse.
That’s not to say that kids telling their own moms to shut up is uncommon. In fact, what with how kids are perceived to be more fragile nowadays, they can probably get by with saying more stuff to their parents than my generation could.
